Nothing really on the system back end. Its more work basically. Every time I make an adjustment to one theme I have to make it to the other. It also requires more addons because elements aren't baked into the theme itself.

Do me a favor and try out the main theme for a few days. See if the improvements to the theme function can overcome the design differences. If you're not happy at that point I'll be happy to reinstate it for you. Sound fair?
 
Sure, I like the green online beacon already.

Main difference I notice is the soft grey post outlines while the Alternate had hard black lines which I prefer for stronger delineation.

Hmmmm. I might be able to increase the contrast shade a bit but it probably wouldn't be stark enough to make a big difference without looking weird.

Do the same thing on the iPhone. Log out of he forum. Go into settings -> safari -> clear website and history data. Then restart safari. Then log back in.

Le sigh. I'm looking into it more. I honestly can't make heads or tails of why some of you are still having issues and some of you aren't.
 
Rambo you gotta get rid of the blue font in the thread titles and signatures, it looks like the color you expect from spam. Alternate had them in black didn't make you want to puke reading it.

The blue signifies links. All links are in that color. You prefer a different shade of blue? Black wouldn't really go with the theme. I could make it like the blue at the top?
 
Top blue bar color wouldn't be nearly as bad as the blue bubblegum, although a true navy would be better. Also when all links aren't the same the color it's disorienting:

Right, so the blue signifies that they're new links. I can change that color no problem. Suggestions on a color code welcome. I'm busy setting up the alternate theme again, so it might take me a little while to get it done. Never mind, just did it. I changed it to the blue color to match the user bar. Let me know what you think.
 
Much better, doesn't look like a teenage twitter forum anymore.

But why do thread titles have to be in bold?

Dude every forum ever bolds unread threads. It's how you scroll down the forum to see what's unread without having to watch every thread.
 
Puce. I would like a puce hue to the fonts. Is that too much to ask? And how do I know these fonts are organic?

Ok, been working on it for a few hours now and I think I've got the Alternate theme set up properly. All the red color is gone, the buttons in the editor are working, the go to top/bottom button is on, and most of the shared edits have been done.

There is a bug currently with the chat box page where its showing the navigation at the bottom of the page. I have no fucking clue why that isn't working properly.
 
I also changed the DressedWell theme's main color to more of a navy-ish blue away from the royal blue. The bolded links were a bit too harsh on the eyes.
 
Moved the Sartodi iGent dictionary and Chorn's Fucking Ew thread into Mens Clothing. So newbs could figure out what the fuck was being said and those high-minded cunts at SF can see their golden boy Claghorn isn't so golden.

That's not part of the theme. There is a little green tab in the top left of someone's avatar showing they're online.

This is a much more stripped down and basic theme than our main theme. One of the reasons it never has any issues running is that they're so few moving parts involved.
